Topping up your balance

A deposit moves money from a mobile money wallet you control into your SkanPay available balance, for example to fund payouts.

A deposit works exactly like a charge: the wallet owner gets a prompt on their phone, approves it with their PIN, and you get a webhook. The differences:

  • No fee. It is your own money.
  • Available immediately when it succeeds, not the next day.
  • Webhooks are deposit.successful and deposit.failed, and the object is a deposit (dep_…).
  • Deposits have their own daily and monthly limit, separate from your charges.
